Exciting news about the latest u.lab offering!

Did you see this lovely bundle of news land in your email box today?  Below, the u.lab team outline what’s coming up for an additional u.lab offering (2x) starting next month.

And mark your diaries – we will be hosting an open gathering on 15 June for all u.labbers and those curious about u.lab on the theme of learning and creativity to encompass the final 2x live session.  We’d love to see you there.  More details to follow soon.

Dear u.lab Participants,

We’re writing today to share some exciting news about the latest u.lab offering. We’re calling it u.lab 2x: From Ego- to Eco-systems (E2E), and it will run from April 20th through the end of June 2017.

In this new u.lab offering, we will offer stories, strategies, and concepts that will open your mind and heart to new ways of thinking, collaborating and leading change in three domains:

  1. The future of work & local economies
  2. The future of finance & climate initiatives
  3. The future of learning and creativity

Importantly, what we’re offering here is not a course but rather a prototype that aims to spark a new conversation and new actions in each of these domains. If it’s successful, we plan to evolve it into a course (or a set of courses) that will be offered through edX starting in 2018.

So, how can you participate in this collaborative laboratory?

u.lab 2x: From Ego- to Eco-systems (E2E) will be initially offered through our newly re-designed Presencing Institute website. The site will launch in early April, and when it does, we will send you a link through which you can access (for free) the E2E materials. These materials will include:

  • Three live sessions (April 20th, May 11th, June 15th) from 10am-11:30am ET. The live sessions will include a new small group breakout feature that we are excited to launch as another global first.
  • Short films and other stories from South Africa, Oakland, Mexico and additional locations.
  • A new participant map and directory.
  • Interactive online discussions, real world actions and more.

New material will become available each week from April 20th through the end of June 2017.

If you participate, you can expect to:

  • Learn about places and examples around the world where people are practicing eco-system leadership.
  • Better understand the invisible dynamics, concrete practices, and approaches to leadership that are needed to support emerging co-creative eco-systems.
  • Join a cohort of other u.lab participants with whom you can share and exchange ideas, practices, and collaborate with to move your own initiatives forward.

Overall, the 2x will be more experimental and less heavy in terms of weekly workload than the 1x that we offer annually September-December. For the 2x, here are the key dates to keep in mind:

  • Early April –  join E2E by signing up on the new Presencing Institute website (we’ll announce this over email in early April)
  • April 20th – 1st live session: The future of work & local economies
  • April 20th to May 11th – new stories, case studies, discussion topics and more posted weekly
  • May 11th – 2nd live session: the future of finance & climate initiatives
  • May 11th to June 15th – new stories, case studies, discussion topics and more posted weekly
  • June 15th: 3rd live session: the future of learning & creativity
  • June 15th to 30th – new stories, case studies, discussion topics and more posted weekly
  • June 30th – reflection, feedback and next steps

If you have any additional questions, head over to our Facebook page and post them there – and we’ll be sure to answer them as best we can.

In the meantime, stay tuned for updates in the next few weeks.

All the best, Adam, Julie, Kelvy and Otto

Keira
