A ceilidh is a traditional Scottish gathering, a kind of a party, but more than that. It’s a place for telling stories, learning new ones, for coming together to dance. You don’t have to know the stories or dances to come along. Some of it is organised and led, some of it depends on who shows up and want to share their party-piece, story or song.
What’s a prototyping ceilidh then?
Many ideas came from the u.lab Scotland community about what we would like to do next, particularly from the Firestarter Festival event back in January. One thing which emerged was that people wanted to have some time and space to explore what prototyping meant. Some people were stuck on having an idea but not being sure where to take it next, some people felt they still hadn’t crystallised what was next for them. So whether you want to come and share your prototype, co-create from your own idea or are just feeling stuck, this could be a place to share.

I very much like the sound of this.
I recently learned the term Tummeler. Apparently a Tummeler (Yiddish term) was hired to turn up at weddings and encourage people to dance.
So in the dance hall of the public sector it seems to me we need more Tummelers… 🙂

Although I think you can be Tummelers in different situations… rather than all the time. Being a constant Tummeler might be a bit much?
